Static Caravans depreciate in value, similar to cars and the trade value is based on the model, age and condition. During the course of a year the trade value of the static caravan will reduce and the new models are usually released around September each year at which point a used caravan in effect becomes a year older and a static caravan valuation would decrease.
If a static caravan can be sold back on site to a new customer it may be worth more than it would be as an off-site trade sale however you have to weigh up the costs involved and any additional time spent trying to locate a private buyer.
For an off-site trade sale payment is usually immediate and there are no commission charges, there is just a de-siting fee to pay and any transport costs are usually picked up by the buyer whereas an on-site sale will attract a commission fee to pay along with the uncertainty of waiting for a cash private buyer to come along. You also have to consider the time spent trying to find a private buyer along with further costs you may incur for advertising and transport costs for potential customer viewings.
