How long can a static caravan remain on a caravan park?

Sell your static caravan

How long a static caravan can remain on a Caravan Park can vary greatly.

Some Caravan Park Operators offer licences to stay on their Caravan Park for a fixed period – say 10, 12 or 15 years etc. Other Caravan Parks have a more a relaxed approached allowing static caravans to stay on site without a fixed licence period subject to the static caravan and pitch being kept in good condition. Often even the more relaxed Caravan Park Operators will include a condition within their Park Rules and Terms and Conditions to allow a change in their policy subject to providing the caravan owner with sufficient notice of the change. This can sometimes result in a static caravan owner having to sell their static caravan off site when a static caravan reaches a certain age even though an age limit was not stipulated at point of sale.

Another issue that can arise is when a Caravan Park changes hands – in some cases the incoming Park Operator can make changes to the licence period or introduce a licence period for the first time which can result in a caravan owner having to leave the Caravan Park before they expected to.
