You have the right to remove your static caravan from the existing Caravan Park to a new location subject to certain conditions.
The majority of Caravan Parks remove the static caravans off the individual plots using their own staff or a local contractor. This service is called disconnection/de-siting and the charge for this service is usually payable to the Caravan Park.
The Caravan Park would require any outstanding bills, including the disconnection/de-siting fee to be settled in full before the static caravan is removed from the plot.
If the static caravan is subject to any outstanding finance you would need to obtain permission from the finance company before removing your static caravan from the Caravan Park.
Can I take my static caravan to a new Caravan Park?
You would need to find a Caravan Park who would accept your static caravan and have an available plot to place it on.
The majority of Caravan Parks now insist you purchase a static caravan through them or if they do allow static caravans to be taken on to their Caravan Park there is usually an age limit in place.
If your static caravan meets the minimum requirements and an agreement is reached, you would need to arrange the disconnection of your static caravan and also arrange transport to take the static caravan to the new Caravan Park. The new Caravan Park would then need to organise for your static caravan to be sited on the agreed plot.
When moving a static caravan to a new Caravan Park there are costs to take into consideration. Initially you will have to pay the disconnection/de-siting charges to your old Caravan Park for the removal of the static caravan. You will then need to pay for the transportation of your static caravan to the new Caravan Park.
In order to join the new Caravan Park, they will probably expect you pay the site fees up front and a lump sum joining fee (sometimes called a plot premium charge) which can vary from Caravan Park to Caravan Park. In addition to this you will be required to pay a siting and connection fee along with gas and electrical safety checks.
Please note – if your static caravan is subject to an outstanding finance agreement you would need to obtain permission from the finance company before moving your static caravan.
